Fellowship at First Baptist
At First Baptist Church, we offer many opportunities for our members to connect with each other and grow in faith together. In addition to several year-long activities, we also offer special seasonal events that are both inspirational and fun!
Regular Fellowship Opportunities
Please join us at the home of one of our members every other Thursday night at 7:00 to study the Word of God and discuss how we can apply it to our daily lives. This is a wonderful opportunity to delve deeper into the meaning of the Bible and build a stronger spiritual foundation for your life. For more information, please contact Pastor Erica Wimber Avena at 860-521-9460.
Want to make a joyful noise unto the Lord while also making friends? Then join the Chancel Choir! Led by our Music Director, Mindy Shilansky, the First Baptist Choir and its soloists are renowned for their beautiful sound and moving expression of faith. The Chancel Choir rehearses every Wednesday night from 7:30p.m. to 9:00 p.m in Gilbert Hall. For more information about joining the choir, please contact Mindy Shilansky at firstname.lastname@example.org.

On the third Thursday of the month, FBC hosts Lunch Bunch, where our members can gather for lunch and laughs.
The Knitting Group at FBC meets regularly to knit prayer shawls and winter garments for those less fortunate. If you love to knit and want to give back to those in need, we hope that you will participate in our Knitting Group.
Seasonal Fellowship Opportunties
Apple Pie Day
Are you a baker? Then you are going to love Apple Pie Day! Every November, a team of FBC members join forces to bake apple pies that are then served on Apple Pie Day, along with a meal of hearty soup and bread.
Hanging of the Greens
On the first Saturday of December, we decorate the church for Christmas. Children participate in a variety of activities in Fellowship Hall while adults hang the lights and the greens and put up the Christmas trees. The evening ends in a group procession to the sanctuary to celebrate Advent and the anticipation of the birth of Jesus Christ.
Led by Mindy Shilansky and the Chancel Choir, FBC goes Christmas caroling on Christmas Sunday. We provide transportation and a bag lunch while we visit the homes of FBC shut-ins, singing the world’s favorite Christmas carols. Make sure to dress warmly!
Easter Egg Hunt
Join us for a morning of fun activites, arts and crafts and an Easter Egg Hunt on Good Friday from 9 a.m.- 12 p.m. This event is open to the children pre-K through fifth grade.
